Principles Of Management By Henri Fayol - Part 2

Hey! Reader, a very good morning. In this blog post, I'll be explaining the principles which were framed by sir Henri Fayol, So in this part, we will continue the last blog post and will be discussing remaining principles of Sir Henri Fayol. So without wasting any more time, let's get started.

Subordination Of Individual Intrest to General Intrest

This principle states that the interest of an organisation should take priority over any other port individual's employes interest.
Every worker has some individual interest in the organisation. For Instance, Every worker in an organisation wants to get the highest salary with the least work. On the other hand, the company would want to get the maximum output with a competitive salary.
Hence Individual's interest should never supersede the general interest.

Remuneration Of Employees

According to this principle, overall pay and compensation of an employee should be fair to the employee as well as organisation, the compensation should meet the paying capacity of the firm, and it should be just and equitable.

Centralisation And Decentralisation

The concentration of decision-making authority by the top-level management is called as centralisation. In contrast, it's dispersal among the entire organisation is known as decentralisation.
Decentralisation also refers to the delegation of authority throughout all the level of the organisation.

According to Fayol  " There is a need to balance subordinate involvement through decentralisation with manager's retention of final authority through centralisation."

Scalar Chain

As we all are aware of the fact, An organisation consists of superiors and subordinates. The formal lines of authority from highest to lowest rank are known as Scalar Chain.
According to Fayol " Organisation should have a chain of authority and communication that runs from top to bottom and should be followed by managers and the subordinates".

Let us consider a situation where there is one head 'A' has 2 lines of authority under him. One line consists of B-C-D another line of authority under 'A' is L-M-N
If 'C' has to communicate with M, who is at the same level of authority, then he has to transverse the route  C-B-A-L-M  due to the process of the scalar chain.
This Chain can be violated at the time of emergency.
Gang Plank is the shortest route which is provided so that the communication is not delayed.

Order

The principle of the 'order' states that there should be a particular place for each and everything in an organisation so that the thing can be found in it's allotted area. This orderliness will result in time-saving as everyone can find anything easily.

Equity

According to Fayol " Good sense and experience are needed to ensure fairness to all employees, who should be treated as fairly as possible." This p[principle emphasises on the kindliness and justice in the behaviour of manager towards worker. There should be no discrimination on the basis of religion, language, belief, nationality, caste, creed etc.
